2. YORK REGION
Turning around and going northwards on Leslie, see it right away, still s. of Highway 7.

3. RICHMOND HILL
Continuing north on Leslie, just n. of Highway 7.

4. NORTH YORK
Take Leslie south to, and cross, Steeles. You are now on Don Mills Road. Sign is immediately at right.

5. THORNHILL
Take Steeles west to Yonge street. Turn right. Just at Doncaster, at the right, is the brown service clubs sign.

6. UNIONVILLE
Yonge north to Highway 7. Take Highway 7 east. Past Warden, look for blue sign on right.

7. BUTTONVILLE
Turn around, take Highway 7 back to Woodbine. Sign is at right north on Woodbine a few blocks.

8. WHITCHURCH-STOUFFVILLE
Continue north on Woodbine. Shortly north of Elgin Mills.

9. GORMLEY
Continue north on Woodbine. Just s. of Stouffville Road.

10. OAK RIDGES
West on Stouffville Road to Yonge Street. North on Yonge, shortly thereafter.

11. AURORA
Yonge just north of Bloomington Road.

12. VANDORF
Double back 50 metres, take Bloomington out to Woodbine, go north. Sign is somewhere before Davis Drive.

13. PLEASANTVILLE
Woodbine, shortly after Vandorf, still s. of Davis Drive.

14. EAST GWILLIMBURY
North of Davis Drive, still on Woodbine.

15. SHARON
Continue Woodbine to Mount Albert Road, turn left (west). Sign is along this road.

16. HOLLAND LANDING
Follow Mount Albert Road west. It jogs at Highway 12. That is, at Highway 12, turn right (north), and then turn left (west) again a few meters up the road. You are still on Mount Albert Road. Sign along this road.

17. QUEENSVILLE
Double back along Mount Albert Road to the "jog", Highway 12. Turn left (north). Follow to Queensville.

18. KESWICK
I ended up getting Keswick going south along 78, just south of Old Homesteader’s Road. This was done by following Highway 12 north, all the way WAY up into residential country. I was clearly in Keswick for a long time, but there was no sign. At Old Homesteader’s road, I turned around, and saw voila, Keswick. An alternate route would have been to go east after Queensville to Woodbine (Highway 8), and continued north along it. There is a Keswick sign on northbound Woodbine somewhere.

19. ISLAND GROVE
Either take Old Homesteader’s road east to Woodbine (and turn north), or just continue north on Woodbine from where you were. Sign will present itself.

Franklin Beach is between Island Grove and Jackson’s Point, but I couldn’t find a sign for it. You might have better luck, in which case, you wouldn’t need to go all the way to Fenelon Falls later.

20. JACKSON'S POINT
Turn east on Highway 78 (Metro Road?). Seems to me a sign instructs you to do so to get to Jackson’s Point. Sign is along this road. There is a better Jackson’s Point sign (back-lit fancy sign within brick structure) further east, but I can’t recall exact directions. The sign faces south, and is positioned in the middle of one side of an intersection. Feel free to snoop around on your own if you feel like it.

21. DUCLOS POINT
From Jackson’s Point, continue east on 78. Turned south on some road (can’t remember what) with arrow pointing towards Sutton. Follow south through Sutton, turn left (east) at light at Highway 48. Follow Highway 48 east through Virginia. Keep your eye sharply tuned, and turn left (north) at Duclos Point Road. Follow to the north, and then turn right at end of road / elbow turn. A sign there instructs you to go right (east) to Duclos Point. Follow this for a bit, white sign is at right, a few meters from the roadway.

22. uXBRIDGE, the X of the trip
From Duclos Point, retrace steps back to Highway 48. (That is, back along road to "elbow", turn left, continue until reach Highway 48). Turn back west (right), and retrace steps to Sutton. Keep along Highway 48, which will bend 90 degrees to southwards at Sutton. Follow south through Baldwin until Highway 32. There is a sign there that shows Ravenshoe to the west. Turn right (east). Keep eyes open. Follow until Highway 39, where you will turn right (south). There should also have been a sign there indicating to turn right for Zephyr. Immediately after this turn, the Uxbridge sign is at right.

23. ZEPHYR
Continuing south along Highway 39, you will pass through Zephyr.

24. LEASKDALE
Continue south along Highway 39 until 13, at which point turn left (east). Follow this to 1, where you will turn right (south). You should shortly come upon Leaskdale. It is possible you reach the Leaskdale sign BEFORE the right turn onto 1, I can’t recall.

25. CANNINGTON
This trip is a bit of a trek out of the way. There are a number of ways of travelling from Leaskdale to Cannington. If you want to take my route, from Leaskdale, above, travelling south on 1 from 13 you should reach what appears to be the continuation of 13. Turn left (east) onto this road, follow it east until 23, where you should turn left (north). Follow 23 north until 10, where you will turn right (east), heading towards Sunderland. In Sunderland, pick up Highway 7 / 12 (combined) north (i.e. go left). The Highway 7 part of the 7/12 highway will break off going east towards Lindsay. Don’t take it; keep on Highway 12 going north. At some point you will reach road 12 (not to be confused with Highway 12), which you will take east (turn right). There should be a sign there pointing to Cannington. Along this road you will reach Cannington. Resist the urge to photo shoot the first Cannington blue sign. Continue a few meters along the road until you see a red heart Welcome to Cannington sign; it is much more picture-friendly.

26. FENELON FALLS
This destination is also a bit of a jaunt. You may select your own favourite route into the Kawarthas if you like. My trip was as follows: From Cannington, continue east until you reach 2. Turn left (north) here. This road will bend 90 degrees to the east at some point, which you want to follow. Travelling east you will encounter Highway 46. This will occur in the town of Woodville. Highway 46 does a slight jog in Woodville which was a bit confusing; I missed the Highway 46 North turn on my first pass through town. Take Highway 46 North (a left turn, assuming you didn’t have to turn around cuz you missed it…). Go north into the town of Argyle, at which point you will turn east (right) onto road 8, towards Glenarm and Fenelon Falls. You will be on this road for a bit. You can now just follow the Fenelon Falls signs. The essence is you transfer onto 35A into town. What you will be looking for is a rather large local painted sign, predominantly white in color.

Well, there it is, folks, you are done! Congratulations. Hang around the Fenelon Falls locks, grab a sub, check into a hotel for the night, or turn tail and head back home. You’ve just completed A-Z, albeit with a kludge substitution for X.

Some notes:

• Keep in mind time of day as you travel. This concern comes from practical photography issues. If you are facing the sun when taking a photo of a sign, you may find it difficult or impossible to get an image. Thus, signs that you approach from the east you are best to shoot earlier in the day, whereas signs that you approach from the west, you are best to approach later in the day. If you must face the sun to take your picture, frame your shot so that the sun is NOT included. Even if it means the sign and subject(s) are not centered in the picture, do so anyway. If the sun IS in your picture, you will get an overexposed image that will probably not develop, or you and your sign will appear only as silhouettes.
   
• Have a map handy when reading the directions. Use the directions to locate what’s going on on the map, then follow the map. It is often useful to use neighbouring highways to track your progress, identify if you’ve missed a turn, etc.
   
• Road surfaces everywhere are good. For the most part, roads are straight-line 80km/h two-lane deals. There are some interesting twisties and hills/valleys, but they are not the norm. Scenery is, well, classic rural Ontario: nice air, country, scenery, pickup trucks, and rusting 60's front lawn automobile ornaments.
   
• Directions for each destination assume the previous location is the starting point.
